Life evolves in cycles. Whether it be as majestic as the life of a planet or as tiny as the life of a seed, it never ends and it constantly changes.
As humans, we too are born into cycles determined in part by the astrological configuration that governs each generation. Those of us in our late 40’s and 50’s arrived under the Saturn/Pluto signature, the same combined energy that brought the New York towers down..in other words, authority (Saturn) versus power (Pluto) and the baby boomers did just that. We challenged the establishment and its values and we made our mark by infusing the consciousness of those who listened with love, peace and music.
Children who are now between the ages of 5 and 17 were born under the signature of Uranus and Neptune which only come together once every 172 years.
Neptune, being the slower moving planet makes the statement about the generation. It’s a water planet, connected to emotions and feelings. It’s soft, idealistic, devoted and intuitive. It brings the gift of a wonderful imagination, causing problems however when it blurs the boundaries between truth and fantasy.
It is the planet which allows these children to live openly as spiritual beings. They read people very well and intuitively know when others are out of integrity.
On the down side, we have the dreamer, the child who has no boundaries, is easily attracted to the escapism of drugs or other addictions or who can be vague, deceptive or dishonest.
Now let’s add Uranus into the equation. Uranus is the planet that governs electricity. It’s fast, electric, spontaneous, creates sudden upheavals and it’s passionate about freedom, technology and revolutionary thinking. It expresses little emotion and prefers the realm of mind, science and things of the future. It’s zany and alive. Uranus is a system buster!
On Uranus’s down side we have restlessness, destructive energy. It can be unpredictable, inconsiderate and wilful.
These two planets together portray a recurring relationship between human ingenuity, inventiveness and a desire for progress with the equally human longing to abandon the suffering of life and find redemption beyond it.
This is a generation of children who, as adults are capable of making major changes in areas of growing concern such as equal opportunity, ethics in Government as well as protection of the environment.
They have the courage to break down old worn out structures using their intuition to guide them, infusing others with the vision of spirituality and teaching the manifestation of values through love and wisdom.
They will probably place themselves in positions of authority with the strong potential of keeping their integrity intact.
If these children use the gifts, the wisdom and the knowledge their astrological signature offers them, then our job as parents and educators is more vital than ever and my experience is that when presented with the concept of service and the betterment of humanity, these children really respond. It’s not a foreign idea to them.
Humanity needs their innovation and their spiritual understanding and these children need to feel supported and understood.
