Adelaide issue 3

OK…I admit it…I simply can’t help myself. It’s true, I do believe in miracles. I still believe in the fantastic and the amazing. I don’t know why but after all these years, I still believe that anything, anything is possible, if you believe it is. Every day demonstrates the miraculous to me…the miracle that we are here, cosmic beings filled with the presence of the Most High and yet, we lose ourselves in the appearance of separateness. Here we are, wondrous, amazing, couragous and infinite…yet we lose ourselves in pockets of misery, of victimhood, of suffering. The greatest miracle is surely  that we have the capacity for clear seeing and direct knowing…and the ability to be open and sensitive to the nth degree to the beauty and wonder of all that life is…and, we choose less than this! In fact, for many it’s the “same old, same old” story that, is miraculously re-created, moment to moment, even though it may be boring, at least it’s safe.

I don’t know why…I just can’t help it…I continue to believe in miracles. And, it’s not just the big ones, it’s the little ones too. Like…a few weeks ago, a couple of friends invited Enza and I to join them for a drive through the Adelaide Hills…they took us to a great organic bakery in Aldgate where we stopped for a snack, and across the road we could hunt for Cedar Roses that fell abundantly in the park. So, we ordered our food and headed across to the park to sit at a table under a canopy of cedars…and right there, on the table we chose to sit at, lay a small, neatly typed-out note (fortune cookie style) – just for us. Noticing it, I said, “Here’s our message for today”, and picked it up to read it out loud. It said, ”Our life lies at great depth within us.” We laughed, took a breath and, acknowledging it’s gift, put it back on the table for someone else to find. We continued on with our  day, collecting dozens of Cedar Roses to take home as a reminder of the miraculous…this life, just as it is…Yes, it’s true, I do believe in miracles.

I’ve always enjoyed Osho’s line, “Be realistic, plan for a miracle!” How mystically pragmatic is that? And why not? We may as well consciously join forces with the miraculous play that surrounds us every day, we’re totally in it anyway. As we’re co-creating it all, we may as well take responsibility for our part in it…and enjoy at that.

Yes, I believe in miracles because I know that my beliefs create the world I exist in. My thoughts, feelings and actions manifest my world as I journey through it. I believe it’s true, so the miraculous becomes an everyday event…And, the greatest miracle of all is that we ourselves, just as we are, are constantly creating this  reality we are so immersed in…day in, day out. We do it all…and it never ceases to amaze me.

Remember the comedy series, “Mork and Mindy” back in the 70’s? I loved Mork’s line, “Life, what a concept!” Those words can help lift us out and take in the truth of what is before us, to step out just for a moment and marvel at this miraculous experience we are all co-creating…Yes I have to admit it, I believe in miracles. How about you?

We hope you enjoy this issue,
